KHYBER: The military operation affected families of Tirah valley, faced with a worse situation amid chilly weather and snowfall, and most of the families were waiting in the open sky for government help; however, the federal government left the IDPs on the mercy of the provincial government, with limited resources to handle the issue.
On the directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, steps are being taken under the supervision of the district administration to shift the IDPs stranded due to the recent snowfall to a safe place. Stranded people from different areas of the Tirah Valley are being shifted to Payanda China. Children, women, and men are being shifted from different areas.
Accommodation and food arrangements have been made for all the affected families. Assistance from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps is being sought for shifting to safe places. Machinery of the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps is also participating in rescue activities, route clearance, and shifting to safe places.
Providing immediate relief to the stranded people on various highways is the top priority. More rescue personnel and machinery from Khyber and Peshawar districts are being shifted to Tirah Valley on an emergency basis.
All families are being provided with basic facilities at Payanda China Center. Under the supervision of Rescue 1122 teams, children and women are being shifted first, followed by men. Relief activities will continue to help the families to a safe place.
