The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced seven accused to rigorous imprisonment and a fine in a case of digital terrorism against state institutions.

The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced seven people to imprisonment and a fine in a case of digital terrorism against state institutions on May 9. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the Anti-Terrorism Court delivered the reserved verdict. The court sentenced Adil Raja, Haider Mehdi, and Wajahat Saeed to life imprisonment twice each, while Sabir Shakir and Moeed Pirzada were also sentenced to life imprisonment twice each.

The accused were also sentenced to a total of 35 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.5 million in other provisions. A total of 24 witnesses were presented by the prosecution in the court, and the court completed the trial in the absence of the accused at the request of the prosecution.

In the Aabpara police station case, Sabir Shakir, Moeed Pirzada, and Syed Akbar Hussain were sentenced to life imprisonment, while in the Ramna police station case, Shaheen Sabahai, Haider Mehndi, and Wajahat Saeed were sentenced. Gulfam Ashraf Goraiya appeared in court as the legal counsel for the accused, who was appointed as the lawyer for the accused by the court. According to the anti-terrorism laws, the trial can be completed even in the absence of the accused.
