ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), on Thursday held a special session with students and teachers from Convent Jesus and Mary, Beaconhouse, and Roots School System.

During the session, he discussed the operational matters of the Pakistan Army and the country’s internal security situation. The principal of Convent Jesus and Mary praised the sacrifices made by the armed forces, while students and teachers shared their thoughts on the issues raised.

Students described the session as “a great honour” and expressed pride in the military’s readiness to protect Pakistan at all costs. DG ISPR emphasised the importance of viewing facts accurately and warned against propaganda and misleading information on social media.

Teachers remarked that the session highlighted strategies to counter the strategic arrogance of Pakistan’s longstanding adversaries. Students acknowledged that responsible citizens must verify news and protect themselves from online misinformation.

They also noted that the Pakistan Army and the public have established a robust national front against external threats. Students recognised the military’s critical role in safeguarding the country against terrorism.

Earlier this month, during a session with journalists, DG ISPR warned the Afghan Taliban that Islamabad would no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism, stating, “Enough is enough.”

He added, “Pakistan does not need the Taliban’s suggestions; we need solutions, and we will find them ourselves.” He emphasised that the armed forces remain the guarantors of Pakistan’s security and are actively targeting banned groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), along with other militant organisations.

“It is incorrect to say that Pakistan has ever celebrated the return of the Taliban,” he clarified.

During the recent Istanbul talks, Pakistani officials made it clear to the Afghan Taliban that “terrorism is your responsibility to control, and how you do it is your problem.”
