PESHAWAR: Director General of Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry congratulated the nation on the establishment of the Chief of Defence Force Headquarters and said that no one can do politics on this issue onward.

“Today’s press conference is regarding Pakistan’s national security and the narratives being made against the country through foreign media,” he remarked while briefing media persons in Islamabad. He criticised certain elements within PTI for making propaganda against the state institution. He said he displayed various posts of some handlers who are making statements against the Pakistan army.

DG ISPR said that there is collusion between PTI and its foreign handlers, and based on this collusion, they are making conspiracies against Pakistan. He said that appeasement of evil forces will not work, and they should stand tall against the enemy instead of appeasing them. He added that there are various stakeholders in terrorist activities, which include smugglers and narcotics businessmen.

The DG ISPR added that it would be “a bit strange to see it coming from me, but the narrative that person is pushing is no more about politics now but has become a matter of national security.”

According to Lt Gen Chaudhry, it was “very important” for ISPR to clarify, remove all ambiguities and doubts. “We need to understand how this narrative is working, and unfortunately, how it is working in deep collusion with external actors.” he remarked.

To a question regarding the Chief Minister’s statement, He said that all the politics of PTI revolve around the Pakistan army, criticizing it. He said that these people are involved in corruption and nepotism, and that was the reason they are barking at the Pakistan army.

To another question regarding the ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, he said that it is not the work of the Pakistan army, and it is the responsibility of the government to take action against anyone posing a threat to national security.
