NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The North Waziristan Assistant Commissioner, Wali Khan on Wednesday ordered departmental action against absent doctors at the district headquarters hospital, MiranShah.

On the special instructions, Deputy Commissioner, North Waziristan, Muhammad Yousaf Karim, Assistant Commissioner, Miranshah, Wali Khan paid a surprise visit to the district major hospital and found 16 doctors absent from their duty.

The district admin expressed strong anger over the poor performance and negligence of the medical teams of the crucial hospital and recommended departmental action against the absent doctors and a seven-day salary deduction from their monthly salary.

During a recent inspection of the hospital, 16 doctors were found absent from duty. This prompted a strong reaction from the concerned officer, who recommended departmental action and a week’s salary deduction for the absent doctors.

The district administration reported receiving numerous complaints from the public about the doctors’ tardiness, which has resulted in significant difficulties for patients, especially the elderly, women, and children. The administration emphasised that negligence in the health sector will not be tolerated.

There will be no compromise on public service, discipline, or the performance of hospitals. A zero-tolerance policy will be implemented against those responsible to ensure that the people of North Waziristan receive timely medical care.
