South Waziristan District Education Officer launched a proceedings against long absent teachers and formed three inquiry committees against 51 teaching employees.

‎ Local sources said that the decision was made at a high level meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Lower. The meeting expressed deep concern over the growing trend of teachers’ attendance system and absenteeism in educational institutions. In this regard, three separate notifications were issued from the District Education Officer (Mail) office, under which three inquiry committees consisting of two members were formed.

‎ The committees were named Miran Gul (Deputy District Education Officer), Mohammad Musa (Headmaster Government High School Shakai) Ghulam Hussain (Government High School Wana), Nasirullah Khan (Government High School Angorada), Abdul Jinn (Headmaster Government Government and Government High School) were nominated.

‎According to the notification, the committees have been instructed to submit their comprehensive report within 15 days by examining the full details of absentee teachers, absence period and EMA reports. Separate recommendations will be prepared against each teacher, on the basis of which action will be decided under the E&D Rules.

‎District Education Officer Malik Khan said that the deputy commissioner’s direction has been initiated and action has been initiated in view of the complete functioning of the educational institutions and public facilities. He said the move would improve the education department and that every employee would fulfill his responsibility honestly.

‎He further said that the committees formed have full confidence, and whatever report will be received, the officers and deputy commissioners of the concerned department will be brought to the knowledge of South Waziristan Lower Musrat Zaman. He made it clear that no negligence or deficiency will be tolerated. The District Education Officer has reaffirmed the commitment that no compromise will be made regarding the improvement of the quality of education and the attendance of the teachers. They have strictly directed all the teachers to ensure their attendance, otherwise strict action will be taken against them.

According to the Department of Education, this step is an important step towards restoring educational discipline in the district, ensuring teachers’ attendance and improving the quality of education.

The move for education has been publicly appreciated, and it is hoped that the decision will be implemented to make sure the attendance in schools of Waziristan.
