The body of an Afghan citizen who was allegedly killed in firing during the Pak-Afghan tension was taken into custody after continuous efforts of Jirga members and transferred to Afghanistan.
Local tribal elders from Pakistan, including Malik Tajuddin Shinwari, Chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari, Mufti Muhammad Ijaz, Qari Jihad Shah, Saeed Khan and other elders, played an important role on the basis of humanitarian sympathy.
Despite the tense situation, the Jirga members continued to communicate and negotiate continuously, which resulted in permission to lift the body. According to sources, there was a ceasefire on the Torkham border at the time, which was taken advantage of by the elders to lift the body from the scene and transfer it to Afghanistan so that the deceased could be buried and the last rites could be performed there.
The Jirga members said that even war has certain principles and no action against humanity can be supported. They expressed their determination that in the future, efforts will be made to resolve such issues through dialogue and the Jirga system.
