NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Dandy Dirdoni Dam, located in Ghulam Khan Tehsil of North Waziristan, is gaining fame not only for its beauty but also for its delicious fish.

The fish here are being liked throughout the region due to their unique taste. According to the local population, this dam is not only used for drinking and irrigation of lands, but has also become a major source of halal livelihood for hundreds of families due to fish farming.

Local youth catch fish and sell them in nearby markets, which is improving their economic condition. The residents of the area have demanded that the government and the Livestock Department pay special attention to modernizing fish farming in the dam. Steps should be taken to breed better varieties of fish here.

If the government takes an interest in this sector, this dam can not only meet the food shortage in North Waziristan but can also create employment opportunities on a large scale.

The lush greenery and towering mountains surrounding the dam offer a picturesque view. After Operation Zarb-e-Azb, when peace was restored in the area, locals and tourists started flocking to the place. In the evening, when the rays of the sun fall on the water of the dam, the entire scene seems to be part of a magical story.

The Dandy Dardoni Dam is not only a centre of tourism and entertainment but also a symbol of life for the local landowners. This dam has the capacity to irrigate about 2000 acres of land. New employment opportunities are being created for the local people due to fish farming and tourism.
