ISLAMABAD: To evaluate Imran Khan social media account, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) team visited Idiala Jail and met with PTI’s founder Imran Khan.
PTI’s founder refused to give answers and said that he would cooperate if the questions were given in writing. The investigation aims to find out whether Imran Khan’s social media account is being operated from Pakistan or abroad, so that the individual or group posting the controversial content can be identified.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched a formal investigation into the management of the social media accounts of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, a move that followed critical posts published on Tuesday.
A three-member NCCIA team led by Deputy Director Ayaz Khan reached Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Tuesday afternoon to question the former prime minister about his official “X” account.
The investigation began when three tweets were published from Khan’s account, which were highly critical of the government and the ruling circles. According to prison sources, the NCCIA team arrived at around 4:00 pm and met with Imran Khan for 45 minutes. However, the meeting ended without reaching any conclusion as the team could not get answers to their questions. Sources said that Imran Khan refused to answer the questions of the authorities and said that he would cooperate only if the questions were given to him in writing.
