PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has eliminated two wanted terrorists in a major operation held in Sarai Naurang.
According to details, the police action was launched after the receipt of intelligence reports informing authorities of the planned attack by the militants at Nali Chak Road.
In a shootout with the police, the two most-wanted criminals Muhammad Sohail alias Ahmed and Azmatullah alias Hafiz were fatally wounded. Both the terrorists were at the top of the police most-wanted list and had in their characters been the catalysts of innumerable confrontations with the security forces, assassinations, and terror in the regional area.
Moreover, the police claimed that Azmatullah was the mastermind behind the killing of DSP Gul Muhammad, Constable Naseem Gul, and Lieutenant Arifullah, whereas Muhammad Sohail was the perpetrator of the assassinations of Constable Mansoor Khan and LHC Hisham Khan.
Besides, the security forces were in possession of an AK-47, a 9mm pistol, mobiles, and two membership cards of a banned militant organization recovered from the scene of the terrorist attack besides the two killed terrorists further indicating the network of terror that these militants were engaged.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appreciated the success of the operation and thanked the efforts of CTD Bannu and Lakki Marwat police that by working together they have brought down these dangerous terrorists and made the region safe.
The success of this operation is a great milestone in the war against terrorism and it is a clear indication that the security forces are still determined to root out terrorist cells in the area.
