BANNU: Two terrorists were killed, and heavy arms were recovered from their possession after an exchange of fire between miscreants and Counter terrorism police in the midnight of Sunday and Monday.
As per the special instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeted operations are underway across the province. In this regard, CTD Bannu Region received information that terrorists are present in the area of Jhandokhel Road, near Shagi Machan Khel, Mirakhel Police Station. Knowing the information to be credible, CTD Bannu Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (S.W.A.T.) and Bannu Police personnel rushed to the spot.
During this, the terrorists opened fire from one side, after which CTD teams and Bannu Police retaliated in self-defense. After the exchange of fire, the bodies of 2 terrorists were found during the search operation, from whose possession 02 Kalashnikovs, 01 pistol, several cartridges, a motorcycle, 02 mobile phones, 02 identity cards, and 01 card of the banned organization TTP were recovered.
One of the slain terrorists, Sohail Khan alias Sangri, was involved in the attacks on Kangar Bridge, the under-construction Rescue 1122 building, and constable Zahid, while the slain terrorist, Ismail alias Usman Sheikh, was involved in the attacks on security forces convoys, including the attacks on Landak and Fateh Khel police posts.
The Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Additional IG CTD have congratulated the police and CTD personnel for successfully eliminating dangerous terrorists. He said that the personnel who foiled the nefarious intentions of the terrorists are the assets of the country and the nation. He added that intelligence-based operations will continue until the terrorists are eliminated.
