SWAT (Shahzad Naved): The Swat district administration has lauched crackdown on Afghan refugees and departed several families on Friday.
According to sources, On the instructions of the provincial government, Swat Police sent 6 more families consisting of 63 people to Afghanistan during the ongoing action against Afghan refugees residing in the district.
On the instructions issued by RPO Malakand Region Fida Hassan Shah and Section Police Officer Omar Khan, the District Police, District Administration along with the Special Branch conducted operations in different areas and identified illegally residing Afghans and started the process of sending them back under the supervision of the Special Branch.
According to police officials, this campaign will continue and all illegal Afghan refugees residing in Swat district will be transferred to their country, Afghanistan, in a phased manner.
The police have appealed to the people of Swat to cooperate fully in this process and inform the relevant police stations about the Afghan refugees residing in their areas. On the other hand, Afghan refugees have also been warned to voluntarily surrender themselves to the authorities and return to their homeland in an honorable manner, otherwise they will face legal action.
