Islamabad High Court removed the objection of Registrar Office on the request of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi to meet the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Adiala Jaill.

The court has now issued notices to the parties for a regular hearing on the matter. This decision was given by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court during the initial hearing of the case along with the objections of the Registrar Office. The court has summoned the Secretary Home, Secretary Home Punjab, IG Police and Superintendent Adiala Jail for October 23, 2025.

The KP Chief Minister’s lawyer Ali Bukhari Advocate told the court that the Registrar Office had raised an objection to his petition as to why Sohail Afridi filed the application without the approval of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government or cabinet. The lawyer argued that this objection was unjustified because the provincial cabinet had not yet been formed.

The Registrar’s Office had taken the position that the court had already decided on the related applications regarding the meetings with the founder PTI, in which the procedure and SOPs for the meetings had been fixed. It was further said that the relevant PTI officials had the authority to prepare the list of those who had met, but they were not made a party in this case.

After the initial hearing, the court rejected the objections of the Registrar’s Office and ordered the case to be forwarded and issued notices to the relevant authorities for the next hearing. Now, on October 23, the court will take further action on this matter.
