RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court on Monday granted bail to YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman alias Ducky Bhai after over two months of detention in a case related to the promotion of illegal games on Social Media.

He was granted bail in exchange for a bond of one million rupees.

The Lahore High Court, presided over by Justice Shahram Sarwar, heard Ducky Bhai’s bail application. Lawyers Imran Chadhar and Shahryar Goraya represented the petitioner in court. After considering the arguments, the court approved the bail, stipulating the bond of one million rupees for his release.

It is important to note that Ducky Bhai was accused of promoting illegal gambling applications through his Social accounts, pages and YouTube channel. A case was filed against him by the National Crime Investigation Agency, Lahore, based on a complaint from the state on the night of August 17.

Additionally, a case was registered against nine officers of the Cyber Crime Agency following a complaint by Ducky Bhai’s wife, Aroop Jatoi. According to the First Information Report (FIR), these officers arrested Ducky Bhai for promoting gambling apps through social media and allegedly accepted millions of rupees in bribes. They also transferred dollars from his account to their own.

The case references 27 videos featuring Saad-ur-Rehman in which these gambling apps were advertised, although many of these videos are no longer accessible. After his bail applications were denied in both the district court and the sessions court, Ducky Bhai sought relief in the High Court. Earlier this month, the court issued notices to the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSIA) to present arguments, as Ducky Bhai claimed that the agency did not notify him before his arrest.
