HOUSTON: Research shows that Saturn’s moon Enceladus has all the vital components that researchers think are key to life to arise.

Researchers reanalyzed data NASA’s Cassini spacecraft collected during its mission in August 2008 that looks at ice plumes that were made of water and rock grains from the moon’s south pole.

The new information shows that besides organic molecules that were discussed previously, this as it contains more advanced carbon-based molecules that could be precursors to such building blocks as amino acids.

Enceladus, researchers say, has three main components, including liquid water, a source of energy like hydrothermal activity, and organic material. Together these suggest that the moon has a habitable environment.

They have not yet discovered any evidence for life, and conclusion puts Enceladus in the forefront of searching for life in our solar system.
