ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has declared a cut of 0.88 rupees per unit in power rates for a duration of one month releasing a statement to this effect.
The announcement states that the price reduction will be applicable to consumers nationwide encompassing K- users. Nonetheless lifeline consumers and vehicle charging facilities will not receive this discount. Customers should anticipate savings in their December electricity statements.
Furthermore, NEPRA has sanctioned rates for extra electricity usage following a request from the government. According to the Power Division, industries and the agriculture sector will be billed Rs. 22.98 Per unit, for any electricity consumed.
Meanwhile, NEPRA has issued a notice following revelations that distribution companies have installed meters without prior approval.
Petrol prices decrease in Pakistan
On November 30, the federal government announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, with the new rates set to take effect from midnight and lasting for the next 15 days.
According to a notification from the Petroleum Division, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 4.79 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs 279.65 per litre. Additionally, the price of petrol has been lowered by Rs 2 per liter, resulting in a revised price of Rs 263.45 per litre.
The Petroleum Division stated that these new prices will come into effect at 12 a.m. tonight and will remain in place until the next fortnightly review.
