PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast that cold and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the country on Sunday, with extremely cold conditions forecast for hilly regions.

Going region by region, the PMD stated that in Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather will remain cold and dry, while fog is expected to develop late at night and persist into the morning.

In Punjab, cold and dry conditions will dominate most districts. Extremely cold weather, along with dense fog, is forecast for Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas.

According to MET, moderate to severe fog is expected in several central and southern districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also likely to see cold and dry conditions, with severe cold expected in hilly areas. Moderate to heavy fog is expected during Saturday night in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan.

In Balochistan, cold and dry weather will persist in most districts, while extremely cold conditions are anticipated in the northern areas. Southwestern districts, including Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, Kech, and Turbat, may experience partly cloudy weather with light rain or snowfall.

Cold and dry weather is forecast for Kashmir, with fog expected in a few locations during the morning hours. Gilgit-Baltistan is also expected to remain cold and dry throughout the day.
