PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that on Sunday, mainly cold and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country, with especially cold conditions in hilly areas, and rain and snowfall in some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cold and dry weather will continue in most districts, while hilly areas may experience very cold and partly cloudy conditions. Light rain or snowfall is expected in Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Kalam, Swat, Kurram, and Waziristan. In Peshawar, temperatures are anticipated to range from 4°C to 22°C.

Partly cloudy weather, with the possibility of light rain or snowfall, is likely in isolated areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northern Balochistan. Islamabad is forecasted to stay cold and partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 5°C and 20°C.

Punjab will remain predominantly cold and dry. Murree and Galiyat may see light rain or snowfall, while drizzle is possible in isolated areas of central Punjab during the afternoon. Temperatures in Lahore are likely to range from 7°C to 20°C, while in Faisalabad, temperatures are expected to be between 6°C and 21°C. Multan is forecasted to record temperatures from 7°C to 23°C.

Sindh will continue to experience cold and dry weather, with Karachi’s temperature expected to range between 12°C and 28°C.

Balochistan is anticipated to remain cold, with skies partly cloudy to cloudy, and there are chances of light rain or snowfall in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, and nearby areas. Quetta’s temperature is forecasted to be between 1°C and 12°C.

Kashmir is expected to experience very cold and cloudy weather, with rain or snowfall. Isolated light rain or snow may also occur in Gilgit-Baltistan. Temperatures in Skardu are likely to range from -4°C to 5°C, from -1°C to 13°C in Gilgit, and around 2°C to 19°C in Muzaffarabad.

Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country, with isolated rain and snowfall reported in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwestern Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The lowest temperature recorded was in Leh at minus 9°C.
