Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major historic package to provide relief to the people during the global economic crisis, under which public transport has been made completely free in all cities of Punjab.

According to this decision, citizens will now be able to travel in the Orange Line Metro Train, Metro Bus Service, Speedo Bus and Green Electro Buses without any fare. Maryam Nawaz has appealed to the citizens to use public transport instead of personal vehicles to save fuel and reduce economic pressure. Along with this, cash assistance has also been decided for agriculture and farmers, under which farmers will be given a subsidy of Rs 100 per acre on diesel, while giving relief to motorcyclists and a discount of Rs 100 on 20 liters of petrol has been announced.

The Chief Minister said that due to war and global conditions, the world is in economic crisis and Pakistan is being affected more due to its dependence on imported oil, however, an attempt has been made to reduce the problems of the people by providing this relief of billions of rupees.

He clarified that the implementation of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s national savings and austerity program has started in Punjab and the government will not leave the people alone in difficult circumstances, as soon as the situation improves, further economic burden will be removed.
