NOWSHERA: Opposition Leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and PML-N MPA Dr. Ibad has strongly criticized the provincial government and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that, for the first time in the province’s history, an elected Chief Minister is protesting on the streets against his own government, raising significant questions about the style of governance.
Speaking to the media in Nowshera, Dr. Ibad emphasized that the primary responsibility of the government is to provide facilities to the people. However, instead of offering relief, the current provincial government appears to be engrossed in protest politics, resulting in common citizens facing humiliation and hardship.
He noted that, while bodies are being raised due to unrest and crises in the province, the Chief Minister seems to be attempting to distract from his failures by launching a street movement. Dr. Ibad accused the Chief Minister of putting personal affiliations above the interests of the province, stressing that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa needs a leader who is genuinely dedicated to its welfare. Unfortunately, he argues, the current Chief Minister is more committed to Imran Khan.
He pointed out that the people are directly experiencing the negative consequences of the Chief Minister’s actions, motivated by his loyalty to Imran Khan. Referring to the situation in the Tirah Valley, he highlighted that children, the elderly, and women are suffering in severe cold and snowfall, putting their lives in danger. Meanwhile, the provincial government’s official machinery is being used for political activities, such as putting up posters and decorations, rather than focusing on public service. This raises serious questions about the government’s priorities.
Dr. Ibad further alleged that the entire official machinery was mobilized for the arrival of Chela in Nowshera, while pressing public issues were neglected.
