PESHAWAR. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi highlighted that the foremost concern and priority for the province at present is maintaining peace. He expressed this during a discussion with a group of members, from Mohmand district.
The tribal elders conveyed their endorsement of CM Afridi describing his selection as a source of pride, for all areas. They reiterated their dedication to backing the administration in its initiatives to maintain peace and safeguard provincial entitlements.
In reply CM Afridi expressed gratitude to the elders for their backing and emphasized that development and prosperity cannot be achieved without peace. He pointed out the organization of the KP Grand Peace Jirga, in the provincial assembly mentioning that all political parties and stakeholders had collectively released a declaration endorsing stability in the province.
CM Afridi expressed worries regarding unmet commitments from the merger of districts, such as the pledge to allocate Rs1 trillion over a decade which has yet to be fulfilled. He further noted that billions, in payments owed to the provincial government by the federal government are still unpaid.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that efforts to secure the rights of the tribal districts are ongoing. He announced plans to establish universities, medical colleges, and nursing colleges in the merged districts to promote education and development.
KP CM vows to keep up criticism over wrong policies
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi said that his criticism of wrong and anti-Pakistan policies would continue despite its bitterness on the ruling class.
“We speak truth and seek justice; if someone finds it bitter, continue to do so. The federation has to give us more than three thousand billion rupees, which the province direly needs for development,” he remarked while Talking to the media outside the Election Commission in Islamabad.
Sohail Afridi said that there is a difference between the results released by Form 45 and the Returning Officer during the Haripur by-election, and they will fight a legal battle against it. He added that all state institutions are respectful to him, whether it is the Election Commission or any other institution. Sohail Afridi said that his speech at the Havelian rally was within the ambit of the constitution and law. He had only said that action would be taken against those who rigged the election.
“What is wrong with this that the Election Commission has issued a notice? I think there is nothing wrong with it,” he said. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that they also want to bring development and progress in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the federation should not discriminate against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Salman Akram Raja will announce tomorrow’s protest. Our movement has been going on before, and it will continue in the future; whatever decision the party takes regarding the protest on November 26 will be implemented. Sohail Afridi appeared in the election commission, where he explained his position regarding the speech addressed in Havelian Abbottabad. He said that he talked about those who were found involved in rigging.\
