CM Afridi: ‘We are not afraid,’ vows to continue fight against terrorism
Earlier on Wednesday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, denounced the suicide attack in Islamabad. The explosion, which was the cause of the death of 12 people and injury of over 30 individuals, the blast took place outside the Islamabad District Court.
CM Afridi was speaking to the public in Peshawar when he got the news of the explosion and did not take a moment before condemning the attack in the strongest words.
“Such a cowardly act, and we condemn this in the strongest terms possible,” Afridi said. “These are not the ones to frighten us. We have gone through hard times before and have always come out strong.”
Afridi also talked about the incident on the day before when a Cadet College in Wana, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was attacked, which further shows the hurdle Pakistan is facing in the war against terrorists. “The cowardly attack on the Cadet College in Wana yesterday was again a sad episode of this running war,” stated Afridi. “But these events won’t be able to diminish our determination. We have been fighting terrorism and extremism for years and will continue to be strong.”
