PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has decided to hold provincial cabinet meetings every friday to improve governance.

The Chief Secretary has been issued instructions regarding the cabinet meetings. The Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary, Abid Majeed, sent a circular to Chief secretary Shahab Ali Shah, stating that CM Sohail Afridi has directed that cabinet meetings be convened every Friday.

The purpose of this decision is to monitor departmental affairs, improve efficiency and speed in government work, review urgent matters, and ensure timely progress on various issues.

The circular also instructs the Chief Secretary to inform all ministers and departments about the Chief Minister’s decision.

Special assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for information and public relations, Shafi Jan, said that national interest and public welfare remain the top priorities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Speaking at a ceremony at Saint Joseph’s Convent School and College in Kohat, he said the provincial government had imposed an education and health emergency to improve service delivery in the two key sectors.
