The DG ISPR has said that the terror nexus between the Afghan Taliban and India is now an open reality, and there is video proof of Indian leaders that those who are enemies of Pakistan are friends of Indian.
Pakistan Army Spokesperson and Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, while holding an important press conference, gave a detailed briefing and played a video of indian and Taliban leaders regarding the terror nexus between the Indian and the Taliban.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the war against terrorism has been going on for two decades, and it is a war of the entire nation. He clarified that the state is committed to eliminating terrorism, and counter-terrorism measures are being taken in full coordination with the people.
The DG ISPR said that a significant reduction in terrorism has been seen with the closure of the Afghan border. Last year, security forces conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations across the country, of which 14,658 operations were in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 58,778 were in Balochistan.
He said that last year, a total of 3,811 terrorist incidents were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while 27 suicide attacks were reported across the country, of which 16 were in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and two attacks were carried out by women. 1,235 law enforcers and civilians were martyred in terrorist operations. During this period, 2,597 terrorists were killed.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, while explaining the relationship between Khawarij and Fitna-ul-Hindustan, said that these elements do not belong to Pakistan or Balochistan and have no connection with Islam.
Talking about the situation in Afghanistan, he said that this country has become a haven for terrorists. Al-Qaeda, ISIS, BLA, and TTP have their bases in Afghanistan, which is having an impact not only on Pakistan but also on the entire region. According to the latest information, about 2,500 terrorists have reached Afghanistan from Syria, not a single one of whom is Pakistani, and this is a serious threat to the region.
The DG ISPR said that under the auspices of India, terrorist groups in Afghanistan are being provided with weapons and financial resources, which are a serious threat to regional peace. He clarified that talks should be held with the Afghan Taliban, but the ground realities cannot be ignored, as terrorists are carrying out attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the current situation in Afghanistan is based on a war economy, which is spreading terrorism throughout the region, and these terrorist groups are looking for new sponsors.
He stressed that unwavering steps are being taken to eliminate terrorism through complete coordination between the state and the people, and Pakistan is determined in its war against terrorism.
