LONDON: England’s renowned all-rounder Chris Woakes, has announced his retirement from International cricket.
During his 14-year career, Chris Woakes played 62 Test matches, 122 ODIs, and 33 T20Is for England. Woakes took 396 wickets and made crucial runs across all formats. One of the standout moments of his career was when he claimed 6 wickets for just 17 runs in a Test match.
The star all-rounder also played a pivotal role in England’s triumph at the 2019 Cricket World Cup and was also part of the squad that clinched the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Woakes decided to retire from international cricket after struggling with a shoulder injury and the ECB’s choice not to renew his central contract.
