LAHORE: China has given an important chance to the students of Pakistan to get higher education in the country.

As per the sources from Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED), China has made a grant of scholarships for Master’s and PhD programs.

The scholarship consists of free tuition fees, living accommodations, medical care, and a monthly stipend.

The students majoring in engineering, sciences, and social sciences are allowed to apply for this scholarship. The application procedure will be done via the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and the deadline for submitting applications for the scholarship has been fixed as January 18, 2026.

Japan offers teachers training scholarships to Pakistani educators for 2026

Similarly, the Japanese Government has revealed the MEXT Teachers Training Scholarship for Pakistani teachers year 2026. The scholarship provides an opening for teachers working in the realm of schooling to acquire professional training and research experience in Japan’s educational system.

The winners will be part of a non-degree teachers’ training and research program at a Japanese university. This program is not a degree course but it focuses completely on professional development and research in the field of school education. A certificate will be awarded to the participants who have completed the program.

As per the official announcement, the program will usually start in October, and the Japanese language training will be given before the teaching activities begin. Since most of the courses and research guidance are in Japanese, this language training is very important for the candidates.

MEXT, which is Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, is the one that gives away the scholarship. The goal of this project is so that the teachers can develop their skills, do research, and even get to know the Japanese educational system personally.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should not be older than the date of April 2, 1991, and they should either possess a university degree or have a teacher’s training qualification. Moreover, the applicants will have to have at least five years of teaching experience in primary, secondary or teacher training institutions by the 1st of October 2026. Notably, university faculty members are excluded from being candidates for the scholarship.

Interns who would be selected are going to live and work for about a year and a half in a totally different culture besides they must be prepared to learn the Japanese language within that time.
