PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has announced that he plans to attend the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award meeting.
Regarding the decision, CM Afridi mentioned that the parliamentary party had consented in its meeting that KP should participate in the NFC session. He further stated that even though the tribal districts were integrated with KP in 2018 the federal government has not allocated the funds since that time.

Sohail Afridi asserted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has not received its share under the NFC Award from 2018 to 2025.
“This right does not belong to me personally; it is the entitlement of the province ” he declared, mentioning that every sector of society has an interest in the debate, over the NFC.
The chief minister further declared that he will organize a meeting on December 7 to increase awareness regarding the financial challenges confronting KP.
The Federal Ministry of Finance has announced that the 11th National Finance Commission is scheduled to conduct its meeting on December 4 2025.
Each of the four provinces. Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Will update the government regarding their economic conditions and budgetary needs.
What is the NFC Award?
The NFC Award represents Pakistan’s fiscal structure by which revenue and resources are allocated among the federal government and the four provinces.
It was created under Article 160 of the Constitution with the initial commission set up in 1974 to oversee distribution, between the federation and provinces.
Reacting to Sohail Afridi’s claim, senior PML-N leader Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the chief minister’s allegation of discrimination against KP has no basis in reality.
