The trailer of Bollywood film ‘Dhurandhar’ has received a strong reaction in Pakistan as soon as it was released, while Chaudhry Aslam Shaheed’s wife called it misleading.

The trailer of the new Bollywood film ‘Dhurandhar’ was released on November 18 and is being heavily criticized in Pakistan. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles, who are presented as characters based on Pakistani personalities.

After the trailer was released, several Pakistani users raised objections on social media and called it an attempt to create “unnecessary controversy”. Some quarters said that the film is presenting real events in a way that raises doubts.

In a recent statement, Chaudhry Aslam Shaheed’s wife also expressed her anger over the film. She said that the way Rehman Dacoit is being highlighted in the film is contrary to reality.

She said, ‘The trailer shows a rally in Lyari, where Benazir Bhutto’s picture is also visible and Rehman Dacoit is addressing the people. What do they want to show all this? Who was Rehman Dacoit? He was a petty criminal who had influence only in a limited area of Lyari.

He added, “If anyone should have been shown on a large scale, it was Chaudhry Aslam, who took action against criminal gangs all over Karachi and laid down his life for the cause of duty.”

According to her Rehman Dacoit was neither a big man nor a public figure. His activities were limited to specific areas, where he extorted money from businessmen and was involved in drug trafficking.

Chaudhry Aslam’s wife demanded that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Sindh government should give their stand on the film so that the wrong impression could be corrected.
