PESHAWAR: A grand ceremony was held in Peshawar in honour of the brave soldiers who were martyred in various operations of security forces in North Waziristan.

General Officer Commanding Miran Shah Major General Adil Iftikhar was the chief guest of the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by a large number of relatives of the martyrs from Peshawar and adjacent areas. Major General Adil Iftikhar paid tribute to the memorable sacrifices of the martyrs for the defence and integrity of the country. The chief guest said that the martyrs are the pride of our foreheads and their relatives are an eternal example of selflessness and spirit of faith.

The relatives of the martyrs said that the martyrs and Ghazis are our real heroes. During the ceremony, the spirit of patriotism and love and devotion of the relatives of the Pakistan Army was visible. The participants were also informed about the special measures taken by the Pakistan Army for the welfare of the relatives of the martyrs.  Scores of Pakistan army brave soldiers embraced martyrdom in the ongoing war against terrorism and large number also sustained injuries. The martyrs’ families vowed to keep up their struggle for the peace and defence of the country.
