PESHAWAR: The parliamentary leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Ahmad Karim Kundi, slammed the federal government on Monday during the assembly session, stating that the centre has breached the constitutional provisions in the recent report of the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.

During the session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) parliamentary leader Ahmad Kundi criticised the federal government, alleging that the recently presented NFC Award report violates the Constitution.

Addressing the floor of the house, Mr Kundi said, “The centre has breached constitutional provisions in the NFC Award report. If the provincial government remains silent, the opposition is still awake.” He called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to pass a resolution against the PML-N-led federal government, asserting that “they should not push us to the wall,

MPA Kundi urged lawmakers to take a united and comprehensive stance, suggesting that the Assembly send a strong message to the centre regarding the province’s due rights under the Constitution of Pakistan.

In response, the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, adjourned the session until Tuesday, saying the matter would be taken up again in tomorrow’s session.
