ISLAMABAD: The federal government has clarified its position regarding the notification of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has dismissed the speculation surrounding the CDF notification in light of the 26th Amendment. He stated that the formal issuance of this notification will take effect upon the return of Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
In a statement on the social media platform X, the Defence Minister confirmed that the process for the CDF notification has already begun and will be completed swiftly following the Prime Minister’s early return.
Khawaja Asif emphasised that there is no need for any further internal or external speculation regarding the CDF notification.
There is unnecessary and irresponsible speculation about CDF notification. Please be informed that the process has been initiated. PM is returning shortly. Notification will be issued in due course of time. No room for any conjecturing. Period!

He stated in his tweet that unfounded and irresponsible rumours are being circulated about the issue, and he urged the public to understand that the process is in its initial stages.
The full issuance of the notification will commence with the Prime Minister’s return, leaving no room for speculation on this matter.
