The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency has arrested an employee of a government hospital in Peshawar on the charge of allegedly blackmailing a woman.

According to officials, the accused asked for personal videos from the woman on the pretext of marriage and then blackmailed her through these videos. Officials said that a complaint was received from the woman, after which the investigation process was started. Phones and other evidence were recovered from the possession of the accused, with the help of which he used to blackmail the woman.

It has been revealed that the accused was demanding Rs two million from the woman. Officials said that the accused threatened to upload personal photos and videos on social media if the money was not given. According to Cyber ​​Crime Investigation officials, the accused was called by the woman on the pretext of a meeting to arrest him. During the investigation, the statement of the accused was recorded in which he confessed to the crime.

Cyber ​​crime officials said that the accused who harassed the woman was working as a CCTV camera operator in the largest government heart hospital in Peshawar. More videos have also been recovered from the personal mobile of the accused, which have been sent to the digital forensic laboratory.

A statement issued by the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology said that the accused arrested in the cyber crime case has been arrested in a personal case that has no connection with the hospital or the administrative system.According to a hospital spokesperson, the cameras installed in the hospital are only for security purposes.He also said that the employee has been suspended with immediate effect and departmental action will be taken against him as per the hospital rules and regulations.
