PESHAWAR: Chief Capital Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed visited the city on the occasion of Christmas and reviewed the security arrangements made at Christian places of worship, churches and other sensitive places in detail.

During the visit, the CCPO met with the organizers of religious programs in the cantonment and city churches and discussed the security arrangements.

He directed the police officers and personnel assigned to security to remain alert at all times and perform their duties dutifully.

CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed clarified that no compromise will be made on the security of religious places of worship, sensitive places and the city as a whole, and the protection of lives and property of the public will be ensured at all costs.

SP Cantt Division Abdullah Ehsan, SP City Division Shahid Adnan and SDPOs were also present with the CCPO on this occasion.

The Capital City Police is constantly striving to maintain law and order in the city of Peshawar and provide a safe environment for citizens.

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to pay salaries and pensions in advance to government employees belonging to the Christian community in view of Christmas.

In this regard, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has issued a letter to the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, all administrative secretaries and other concerned officials.

The letter issued by the Finance Department states that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to pay the salaries and pensions of December 2025 in advance to Christian government employees and pensioners on the occasion of Christmas 2025. According to the letter issued by the Finance Department, the salaries and pensions of December 2025 to all Christian government employees and pensioners of the provincial government will be paid on December 20, 2025, so that they can celebrate the joys of Christmas in a better way.

The letter clarifies that this step has been taken under the Federal Treasury Rules, according to which if Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha or Christmas falls in the last days of the month, then the employees and Pensioners will be paid their salaries or pensions five days before the festival.

The Finance Department has directed all concerned departments, district administrations, commissioners, deputy commissioners, courts, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions, banks and accounts offices to make immediate arrangements to ensure timely payment to employees and pensioners belonging to the Christian community.
