British Chief of General Staff General Sir Charles Rowland Vincent Walker met with Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
The meeting of the British Chief of General Staff with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, agreed that the defense relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom are based on mutual trust, exchange of experience and training cooperation, which need to be further strengthened so that the objectives of sustainable peace in the region can be achieved.
According to the ISPR, British Army Chief of General Staff General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker visited GHQ Rawalpindi, where he met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
During the meeting, bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and issues related to the promotion of cooperation in the defense sector were discussed in detail.
The military leadership of both countries expressed their determination to continue their cooperation for peace and stability in the region.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and General Charles Walker agreed that the defense relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom are based on mutual trust, exchange of experience and training cooperation, which need to be further strengthened so that the objectives of sustainable peace in the region can be achieved.
The British Chief of General Staff appreciated the achievements and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in the war on terrorism and Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region. He said that Pakistan’s armed forces have demonstrated professionalism in difficult situations, which is commendable.
On this occasion, General Walker was presented with a guard of honor by a well-dressed contingent of the Pakistan Army upon his arrival at GHQ. Later, he laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, this high-level meeting will further strengthen the defense relations between the two countries and help achieve the common goals of peace and security in the region.
