A woman was killed, and five others were injured on Thursday when a shop wall collapsed under the weight of a large crowd gathered to receive Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) instalments in the Kuz Kana area of Shangla.
According to the Rescue 1122, women who came from various parts of the tehsil Kana were gathered at the shop where they were supposed to receive the cash of BISP instalments when the incident occurred, resulting in the death of a woman on the spot, while five others were injured.
He said the injured women were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Alpuri, after being provided with first aid at the incident point in Kuz Kana.
The Rescue 1122 spokesperson said all the injured women were local women who were gathered at the BISP payment disbursement point.
