The Punjab government has announced a significant increase in the quarterly stipend provided under the Benazir Kafaalat Program, part of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
According to an official statement, the quarterly payment for eligible women has been raised from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,500 for the current cycle. This move is expected to benefit millions of registered beneficiaries across the province, providing much-needed relief amid rising inflation and increasing household expenses.
This latest adjustment follows a previous increase last year, when the government raised the quarterly assistance by Rs 2,000, moving the stipend from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500. Officials stated that the consistent upward revisions are part of a broader effort to ease the financial burden on deserving women and ensure more robust social safety nets for vulnerable families.
The increased payments are being disbursed during the current cycle, and beneficiaries are encouraged to collect the full amount from authorised distribution points.
