ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced amendments to the net metering rules, which bring good news for solar consumers. However, these changes will not apply to existing solar consumers.
According to Nepra, the current net metering agreements will remain in effect until their terms are completed, and existing consumers will continue to be billed according to those agreements.
The new rules will only affect new net metering consumers. This decision aims to provide stability and facilitate financial planning for solar energy consumers, ensuring that there are no changes or additional burdens for those already using solar energy.
