ISLAMABAD: The auto world has been set ablaze with discussions after Toyota announced a massive price reduction of up to Rs2.5 million, in the latest event in Pakistan. The justifications for this incredible offer have recently been brought to light.

Sunil Manjh, the driving force behind PakWheels’ website and digital platform, recently shared valuable information that the tax relief granted by the government and the company’s own measures were the main reasons for the cut during the podcast interview. He further stated that half of the price reduction, around Rs1.5 million, came from the tax cuts and Toyota took the other half of the Rs1 million by reducing its profits.

He mentioned that the reduction is considered nothing less than a miracle in the Pakistan automotive industry, especially when most car prices have remained pretty much the same and high.

The price decrease was in fact made public by the Indus Motor Company (IMC) of Toyota as part of its 35th-anniversary celebrations in Pakistan. It was also reported that in this context, the company decreased the price of its most-sought-after off-road sports utility vehicle, the Toyota Fortuner, which is regarded as one of the biggest cuts in prices of any major automaker in the past few years.

As per the new pricing, the total amount customers will have to pay for the Toyota Fortuner G is Rs124.35 million, which is a huge reduction of Rs2.5 million from the earlier price tag.

In like manner, the cost of the Toyota Fortuner V has also been lowered by Rs2.57 million, hence its new price now stands at Rs149.35 million.

Market analysts believe that the new price range may arouse consumer attraction in the premium SUV market and also persuade the other carmakers to review their prices in view of the new tax reforms.
