SYDNEY: Cricket Australia announced the much-awaited list of the 21 cricketers who will be awarded central contracts for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The number of contracted players is significantly lower compared to the previous year’s contract list, which featured 23 contracted players.

The announcement has come as a shocker as several big-name cricketers have failed to find a place in the prestigious contract list.

The contract list for the current year includes the big names in the Australian team, such as Adam Zampa, Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green, and Pat Cummins, who continue to be the pillars of the team in the current season.

Other contracted players include the big names in the team like Steve Smith, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Matthew Short, Usman Khawaja, and young pacer Sam Constaas.
