DUBAI: A Bhutanese bowler has achieved an incredible milestone by surpassing the previous record for the best bowling figures in T20I cricket.
In the match against Myanmar, Yeshey Sonam of Bhutan was simply amazing, claiming 8 wickets for only 7 runs in 4 overs. His marvelous performance broke the Myanmar batting order and consequently re-established the old record books.
Myanmar came into the game with a target of 127 runs and ended up losing the match heavily by getting bowled out for 45 runs, with the major contributing factor being Yeshey’s deadly bowling.
The previous record of seven wickets taken by a bowler in a T20 International match was the highest limit of that bowler’s performance. Sonam Yeshey exceeded the limit by taking eight wickets thus being the first to set a new global benchmark in T20I cricket.
This recording has been claimed by cricket fans and analysts as one of the most extraordinary bowling performances in the history of the shortest format of the game.
