The Bara Political Alliance has concluded an important jirga regarding the Tirah issue, which was held at the request of tribal elders and representatives from the area. The meeting aimed to address the ongoing situation caused by the provincial government’s mismanagement. During the jirga, participants criticized the provincial government for its failure to effectively manage the issues in Tirah.

Members of the jirga strongly condemned the corruption and political interference in the distribution of four billion rupees allocated for the victims. They also paid tribute to the security forces for their efforts in establishing peace in the region. The agenda for the national jirga was presented by Haji Shireen Afridi, the former chairman of the Bara Political Alliance. The alliance expressed complete solidarity, sympathy, and full support for all families displaced from Tirah.

Haji Shireen Afridi mentioned, We held two jirgas with the Khawarij, but we ultimately handed over the responsibility of resolving the issues to the provincial government and the elders of Tirah. Unfortunately, both attempts failed. He emphasized that the problems faced by the victims of Tirah extend beyond any single region or tribe; they represent a broader national issue whose resolution cannot be delayed.

The Bara Political Alliance called for the immediate implementation of the agreed-upon declaration. They insisted that complete peace should be restored in the Tirah Valley and that a clear guarantee for sustainable peace in the future should be provided.

The alliance demanded an immediate halt to actions such as gunfire, shelling, mortar attacks on residences, and the downing of quadcopters by Khawarij in Tirah, as these actions instill fear and panic among ordinary citizens.

Furthermore, they urged for the honorable return of the Tirah victims, ensuring that all promises and agreements made with them are recognized and implemented both in writing and practically. An impartial investigation into political interference, nepotism, administrative incompetence, and corruption in the registration process for Tirah victims was also demanded, with accountability for those responsible.

The Bara Political Alliance called for all residents of Tirah who own houses or properties to be fully registered and granted Internally Displaced Person (IDP) status, ensuring their inclusion in the relief package. They expressed concerns over the alarming law and order situation in Upper Bara and the Bara Plain area, urging for emergency measures to address it. A peace movement will be initiated in Bara today to establish a safe environment for the people.

Additionally, the provincial government was urged to fulfill its constitutional responsibility to eradicate kidnapping for ransom, threatening calls, and the fear instilled by Khawarij in Bara, thereby providing protection to the citizens. The Bara Political Alliance reiterated its commitment to standing with the victims of Tirah at every forum and will continue to advocate for their rights until they are achieved.
