Bangladesh has suspended visa services for Indians at the Delhi High Commission and the Agartala border following the assassination of Bangladeshi youth leader Osman Hadi.

In the past few days, alleged evidence of India’s involvement in the murder of Osman Hadi had come to light, after which relations between India and Bangladesh had further deteriorated.

Yesterday, India had also threatened to kill another leader, and now, after all this, Bangladesh has suspended visa services for India, which will apply to the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi and the Agartala border crossing point.

This decision has been taken in view of the tense relations between the two countries.

In the past few days, evidence of India’s involvement in the murder of Usman Hadi had come to light, after which the already tense relations between India and Bangladesh increased further. Bangladeshi officials say that it has become imperative to immediately suspend visa services to prevent such actions and keep the relations between the two countries balanced.

It may be recalled that after the assassination of Usman Hadi, India also threatened to kill another Bangladeshi leader. According to officials, these threats and recent evidence are having a profound impact on the relations between the two countries, and the suspension of visa services was a necessary measure in view of public security.

According to Bangladeshi officials, no action will be taken on visa applications and their processing of Indian citizens until the situation returns to normal. However, diplomatic contacts between the two countries will continue to seek possible solutions to improve relations in the future.

The suspension of visa services is also likely to have an impact on trade activities and border traffic between India and Bangladesh, as the movement of many citizens and traders may be affected. Although this measure is temporary, it may take time to restore trust in the relations between the two countries.
