DUBAI: Bangladesh clinched a dramatic four-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four stage, chasing down 169 on the final delivery of the match.
Towhid Hridoy anchored the innings with a vital 58, while Saif Hussain’s explosive 61 put Bangladesh on course for the win. Skipper Liton Das contributed 23, Shamim Hossain added 14, while Tanzid Hasan fell without scoring. Wanindu Hasaranga took two wickets for Sri Lanka but struggled to halt the run chase.
Earlier, Sri Lanka set a total of 168/7 after being put in to bat. Dasun Shanaka top-scored with a blistering 64, featuring three fours and six sixes. Kusal Mendis made 34, Pathum Nissanka 22, and captain Charith Asalanka 21.
For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman impressed with three wickets, supported by Mehidy Hasan’s two and Taskin Ahmed’s one.
