KHAR, Bajaur: The process of distributing relief funds has officially commenced for the families affected by the military operation in the PK-22 constituency of Bajaur after the verification of affected families was completed. According to Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nisar Baz Khan, the verification process through NADRA was completed on March 13.
Under the ongoing relief initiative, more than 2,600 families affected by the recent operation will receive financial assistance. The funds will be transferred directly through SIM cards, ensuring a smooth and efficient distribution process.
MPA Nisar Baz Khan said that officials from the Secretary Relief and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) conducted multiple meetings to create an organized and transparent relief process. He reported that ongoing partnerships with administration and relevant institutions helped families to complete verification without major difficulties.
MPA Nisar Baz Khan established transparent procedures through his work with district administration, PDMA, and NADRA officials. The local Village Council elected representatives and village elders participated in the process to guarantee that aid reached actual victims of the operation.
The distribution of relief funds will be announced to affected families through awareness messages. Each family will receive a one-time payment of PKR 110,000 which will be disbursed in a single instalment.
Bajaur mortar attack: Security commander, locals stand with grieving family
Earlier, a mortar shell fired by Afghan forces landed on a residential home in the Lehti Tari Pasha area in Salarzai tehsil of Bajaur, close to the Pak-Afghan border. The attack, resulted in the martyrdom of four brothers and left one person critically injured.
In the aftermath of the attack, the local security commander visited the affected family’s home to offer condolences and share in their grief. The commander, accompanied by local elders, area residents, and security personnel, met with the grieving family to express solidarity and offer support during this difficult time.
The commander spent time with the victims’ relatives, assuring them of the country’s unwavering support in this moment of tragedy. He also conveyed heartfelt condolences and expressed deep sympathy for their loss.
Local security authorities confirmed that immediate steps were taken following the incident. Additional security forces have been deployed in the area to ensure the safety of the region and to prevent any further unfortunate events from occurring in the future.
