KHAR, Bajaur: A mortar shell fired from Afghanistan struck a local home in Salarzai tehsil Bajaur. The attack, which Bajaur Press Club condemned as a cowardly act of violence, has received widespread condemnation from all quarters.
The Bajaur Press Club offered its condolences to the families of the victims and condemned the attack in the strongest words possible. “We mourn the loss of innocent lives and stand in solidarity with their families,” said Hasban Ullah, the President of Bajaur Press Club. “We condemn this brutal act and seek justice for the martyrs.
The Bajaur Press Club also thanked the Government of Pakistan for issuing a prompt statement and expressing its sympathy for the victims. The Press Club expressed its dissatisfaction because Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government did not release any official condolence statement which the organization considered to be both disturbing and unfortunate.
Hasban Ullah declared that “We stand firmly with our brave Pakistan Armed Forces.” The military will establish justice for these innocent lives, according to us, while taking decisive actions to stop future assaults.
The Press Club prayed for the martyrs, requesting Allah to grant them entry into Jannat-ul-Firdous (Heaven) and wishing for the fast healing of the injured.
The mortar attack escalates Pak-Afghan border tensions which already threaten to destabilize the existing tense relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Four civilians martyred in Afghan Taliban provocation across border
Moreover, four civilians were martyred, and a person was injured in Afghan Taliban unprovoked firing across the border near the Bajaur area.
According to sources, four people were martyred when a projectile was fired at a house in the Leti Tari Pasha area of the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur’s Salarzai tehsil. While one person was injured.
Sources say the mortar shells were fired from Afghanistan, targeting civilians.
The sources identified the deceased included Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz and Muaz, all four were brothers.
The injured person was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. and panic spread in the border areas after the mortar attack from across the border continued.
After suffering defeat at the hands of the Pakistani army, the Afghan Taliban began attacking civilian populations.

There is strong anger among the people of Bajaur against the attack by Afghanistan. Pakistan’s armed forces are giving a befitting reply to the cowardly attacks of the Afghan Taliban.
