RAWALPINDI: Babar Azam known as the best batsman in Pakistan, has once again been the one to lead the undesirable records of T20 International.
On Thursday, in the Tri-Nation T20 series match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium against Sri Lanka, Babar failed to score and thus it was his 10th duck in T20 internationals.
Moreover, Babar had also been dismissed for a duck in the very first game against Zimbabwe and he has not yet made any runs in this tournament.
After this failure Babar Azam enters an infamous category of players who hold the record for the most number of ducks in T20 internationals, thus tying the record. He currently ranks alongside Saeem Ayub and Umar Akmal, both of whom also hold 10 ducks each, in T20I cricket.
Most Ducks in T20I Cricket (for Pakistan):
Umar Akmal: 10 ducks in 84 matches
Saim Ayub: 10 ducks in 55 matches
Babar Azam: 10 ducks in 135 matches
In spite of this obstacle, Babar Azam continues to be one of Pakistan’s reliable and skilful athletes, boasting a myriad of accomplishments. Nevertheless, this recent record will probably stand as a mark, in his career history.
In the TriNation T20 series game Sri Lanka edged out Pakistan by a slim 6-run difference, securing a spot, in the final whereas Zimbabwe was knocked out of the competition.
The final of the series will be held on Saturday, where Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in what promises to be an exciting contest for the title.
