Ayub Teaching Hospital successfully administered the first TPA injection to treat a stroke patient, which is an important milestone for the institution. This injection was provided to Banaras Khan, a patient from Havelian, free of cost under the Sehat Sahulat Program.
This is great news for the people of Hazara because now timely and modern treatment facilities have become available to stroke patients at the local level, which will help save precious lives.
The hard work of the administration and staff has paid off. Behind this success is the tireless work and efforts of Chairman Board of Governors Professor Abid Jamil, Hospital Director Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Afridi, Medical Director Dr. Imran Khan and the frontline heroes of the institution, who worked day and night to make this facility possible.
The injection was not available in Sehat sahulat program and later it was included to facilitate the poor segment of society with expensive treatment. This injection protect a person from stroke in early hours of the disease.
