COLOMBO: Australia defeated Pakistan by 107 runs in the 9th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, on Wednesday.

Pakistan failed to achieve the target of 222 runs given by Australia, and they were all out for just 114 runs in 36.3 overs. Sidra Amin led the batting effort with 35 runs, captain Fatima Sana and Nuzhat Sadhu managed 11 runs each. Rameen Shamim scored 15 runs, but the rest of the batting order couldn’t reach double figures.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss in Colombo and invited the Australian to bat first. Australia set the target of 222 for the green shirts. Beth Mooney’s scored an outstanding century for Australia.

Australia’s start looked shaky as Pakistan’s bowlers reduced them to 76 for 7. Later in the innings, Mooney and Alana King batted sensibly to guide Australia to a competitive total.

Mooney finished unbeaten on 109, with King contributing an undefeated 51.

Nuzhat Sadhu was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, while Rameen Shamim and Fatima Sana took 2 wickets apiece. Daniya Baig and Sadia Iqbal claimed one wicket each.
