Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), during the hearing of an important drug case expressed its strong displeasure and ordered to stop salaries of seven police officers and arrest of the four guarantors.

The case was heard by ATC Judge Wali Muhammad Khan. During the hearing, the prosecution informed the court that the police officers named in the case as witnesses are not appearing in court continuously, due to which the proceedings of the case are being severely affected.

According to the prosecution, a total of seven police officers, including SHO Hazrat Hayat Khan and Additional SHO Shahzeb Khan, have been named as witnesses in the case, however, despite repeated summons, none of the witnesses appeared in court.

The court, calling this behavior a clear violation of court orders, issued an order to stop the salaries of all seven police officers until further notice. Along with this, the court also sent a formal letter to the senior police officer, directing him to immediately implement the court order.

The court made it clear that the salaries of the nominated police witnesses will not be restored until they appear in court and record their statements.

Later, the court adjourned the further hearing of the case till January 26. According to judicial circles, the aim of such orders is to eliminate delaying tactics in the judicial system and ensure uniform application of the law.
