SWABI: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and ex-Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser, while handling the public gathering in Swabi, did not mince his words for the government and was vocal about electoral transparency and the rule of law in Pakistan.

Speaking to the crowd, Qaiser said, “There is a government in the country that rules by force. We do not accept this system of oppression and coercion.” He claimed that PTI is being prevented from forming governments in certain provinces and criticized restrictions on political leaders’ access, saying, “A provincial chief executive cannot even meet their own leader.”

Qaiser highlighted the situation of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, stating that he should have the right to meetings according to jail manuals and law. “This injustice is not only happening to Imran Khan, it is happening to the entire nation,” he said.

He also addressed alleged irregularities in elections, claiming that voters’ choices are being ignored. “People voted for one candidate, but another was declared the winner. Decisions are being made by those counting the votes, not by those giving them,” Qaiser said. He cited instances in Karachi, Haripur, and other areas where he said PTI candidates were unfairly defeated.

Qaiser criticized the Election Commission and judiciary, saying both institutions have been “completely paralyzed.” He also urged adherence to the constitution and rule of law, asking, “If we are to live in this country, we must follow the constitution and the law.”

He concluded his speech with a reflection on Pakistan’s founding ideals, questioning, “Is this the Pakistan that Allama Iqbal dreamed of?”
